Looking for a space saver spare wheel & tyre for Z3 in good useable condition.
Loads on ebay.Looking for a space saver spare wheel & tyre for Z3 in good useable condition.
Try looking for a spare from a 3 series E46, the tyre will be in better condition and the wheel should be almost rust free through being kept in the boot, unlike a Z3 wheel which is under the car.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Dakar useful information, much appreciated.
Just to be absolutely clear (as don't want to end up buying wrong sized wheel ) a3 series E46 spare wheel is the same size as a Z3 spare wheel?
Thanks John that's really good advice. Been a bit busy the last few days so haven't had a chance to get back to this. Good job Sue said we should ask on the forum first as I (Ian) came close to spending £95 on one!Hello Yes, the size you need is 115 90 16, there are several on eBay at the minute for around £40 inc delivery. I have an e46 wheel and tyre I paid £25 and collected locally off Gumtree so check them both For the best price, anything under £50 delivered for a mint wheel and tyre is pretty good to be honest, when you get the wheel, spray some WD40 onto a cloth and wipe both sides of the wheel before you put in the cradle, it will help prevent it rusting. I put my wheel inside a plastic bag, not sure if that’s a good or bad idea but it keeps it clean, just in case, Good luck

PERFECT,Wheel ordered from Ebay in "as new" pristine condition £44.98 inc. postage. Result!
Just a bit of camera trickery ChrisHi Mint why has the blue hardtop got a fuel filler on the left side of the car.
Just curious Chris
Afraid not. Will probably have to cut ours off when we remove the old wheel. (We say wheel but more like a conglomerate of rust.)Does it come with the tyre valve extension? Had to cut mine off and buy new it was so corroded.
They are rusted together so wouldn't trust it even if it does come apart. Plan to do the same as you and just check it every so often.I had to cut my connector free as well, If you bought an E46 wheel you will not have this issue with your new wheel, but your old wheel they‘ve probably rusted together.
I just check the tyre every 6-8 weeks, makes me remember how to lower it as well.
pleased you got sorted in the end
Mine was too - did exactly as recommended on here and got a decent 3 series one to replace (exactly the same). Luckily the connector unscrewed fine but I haven't bothered re-connecting - will just keep a pump in the boot.Afraid not. Will probably have to cut ours off when we remove the old wheel.
