I try and keep it all stock if I can. But I can't pretend an enormous pair of horns to alert idiots isn't an attraction. BMW horns are fairly reasonable stock. They're pathetic on some cars like Peugeot/Citroen - embarassing.I got fed up of the feeble stock horns and idiot trying to run me over at roundabouts. Installed a pair of red Hellas behind the grills. They work really well and think they look pretty good also. Bolted them to the panel in front of the rad and extended the wiring.

Is there a part no for that please Rob?This sounds like a wiring issue. But for those who need to replace their horn units (they get very crusty and do fail) BMW units are expensive - about £40 ea. And at the end of the day they are only eg Fiamm with a custom BMW connector.
You can buy a pair of Fiamm (BMW used other makes too and continue to vary supplier on an ongoing basis) for £20 on ebay. They won't connect straight in but the unit shape (snail) and mounting method is identical. You can then either cut the car wiring harness or make up a small converter fly lead. I went down the latter route as I like any mods to be reversible.
BMW sell the bullet connectors with a length of wire. Then you just need to solder spade connectors to the other end. The whole length only needs to be a few inches and then I bound it up with waterproof loom tape so it blends in well under the arch.
