Z3 Rear Window

There are a few options.

BMW direct is predictably expensive. Buying a new non oem item for around £120 quid. I had a tinted one on my old m44 if you like that sorta thing.

Or the cheap but oem way is finding a used oem item from a breaker. I'm. Sure @spurs fan in a coupe could find one for you. Much cheaper and still OEM.

This is a good time to address any stitching issues where sections might be missing a thread or 10.

Well I did a tuck in job with out the glue and as yet it appears to be staying put, but, I'll keep an eye on it as the the rest of the hood is like new:cool:Malcolm

I've tucked mine in so many times but, eventually, it just pops out again. I've given up now. It just stays out all the time.

I replaced my back window some years ago. I'm thinking that the black plastic strip (where the flap tucks under) is narrower on my replacement window than it was on the original.

Easy to fit, was the cheapest one on the market and has the best plastic for the window. You have to mask up the window and reat/top of the car before you do the gluing as you can get some glue threads blowing about.

Took about 7 days to arrive from the USA down to the South Pacific.

I fancy a new window. I replaced mine around 5 years ago but never been totally happy with it.

Any chance you could post a closeup picture of the join between roof and window showing how the roof fabric tucks in?

This is a photo of one I had to reinstall as the zip stitching had broken away and the previous owner tried glueing it back in. You can see my line of hand stitching. The white stuff is what is left of the old glue the previous owner used.

after 3weeks mine is still nicely tucked in, we'll see how it goes when in put the roof down a few times LoL
 
I need to get mine done soon. However it's going to a trimmer to have one sewn in, £350 or so. There is absolutely no way I am attempting to zip a new cheapo window in.

You could get the window complete with a new roof fitted for that money from Jack trimmers in Swansea.
