How much is a Z3 worth as scrap if the major parts are sold as spares?

I'm thinking:

Mirrors - £75 each = £150
Seats - £200?
Roof - £100
Side Vents- £50 maybe more if chrome
Wheels - £150+

Then there's a lot of other stuff like the bonnet and body panels if they are in good condition, engine parts and extra stuff like roll hoops and wind deflectors.

Surely that puts the bare minimum price of a Z3 at somewhere near £1000?

Your not scrapping Jims old 2.8 are you Connor? Your prices don't seem to far away. I paid £100 delivered for my mirror a couple of years ago. Don't know about a roof but if you have one and it's blue and in exceptional condition I'll buy it of you!

Seems a reasonable guesstimate. There are three different sets of seats, and each should be priced accordingly.

The standard ones can be picked up for around £100, although I've seen some that couldn't be given away. The Sport seats somewhere between £250 & £500 depending on condition. Haven't seen any ///M seats come up for sale for a while, but somewhere north of £400 would be reasonable.

No I I'm not scrapping it! My dads got it now and is enjoying it. I was just wondering what the theoretical lowest price a Z3 could be worth if all the major components still worked.

Difficult one @Connor, all depends, as with most things, on demand, as Gaz pointed out, sometimes you can not even give stuff away.
It also depends on country and location, as over here there is a larger European main land market with cars and parts being imported/exported from different countries so. at least the cars (LHD) are double the price of the UK. For example, a friend of mine in Slovenia imported his Z3 and parts from Germany and paid a premium but saying that, the cars that are for sale and advertised as registered from day one in the country where they a being sold tend to command a better price.

On the parts side, people in the business will obviously all ways be asking higher prices than people like you and me who might have parts knocking around at home and need to get rid.
I sold my hardtop and fitting kit for 700 quid, if I was in the business, I would have been asking 1000.
Also there are plenty of companies, especially in Germany, that make new parts, wing mirrors etc, that you would be better off buying than used second hand parts.

You should easily get £75 for a working mirror it seems the (RHD) drivers mirrors on eBay command a higher price than the passenger ones and it sometimes works out cheaper to buy a passenger mirror off a (LHD) car from mainland Europe but the average price seems to be around £100 to £120

I was lucky with mine as my one had been bodged with a bit of Micky metal to hold it all together so it never quite clipped in place and I only found out when I stripped it down to repaint the mirror bases so I got one off a car breaker in Scotland which was in as new condition for £57 delivered but I don't think he realised what Z3 mirrors fetched and it took me about 6 months to find a cheap one.

Wheels seem fairly cheap due to weight and postage so don't sell well if it's pick up only as I bought a lovely set of four 15 inch pepper pot z3 wheels in the summer for £20 and two of the tyres are good to use but I did buy another matching wheel as well from eBay for £24 delivered as the lacquer had dulled on one of them and it's cheaper and less hassle at that price rather than getting a couple of rattle cans and repainting a wheel.

I bought them for winter wheels and planned on using them on the Zed but my fathers BMW has steel wheels so I might just bolt them on his Car as I checked the part numbers and the wheels were an option on the E36 although I've never seen that style on them.

Obviously the bigger the diameter the more expensive the wheels and 17 and 18s fetch more money and it's rare to come across cheap z3 M alloys unless there fake or badly damaged.
