Hi y'all! My 1998 Z3 passenger side window is a bit erratic; it wants to close upwards at an angle, usually the front goes higher than the rear, and sticks until straightened, by dropping it slightly until it frees up and winds straight up again. It also seems to drop on one side more quickly than the other so again goes at an angle until it sticks. Is it worn parts, or does it just needs a good clean and lubrication of the runners?
I've also noticed the driver's side window doesn't seal as well as it used to against the hood, so leaves a very small gap and drips get in - it there any possible adjustment?

As @Rudyrov says it sounds like you need to take the door card off and see whats amiss. A shot of Silicone spray (not grease) down the rubber guides will help too.

It might be worth applying Gummi Pflege to the roof- and door-seals if you haven't done that yet. It softens and revitalises the seals and will help close up the gap on your drivers side

One the bottom of the door there are 2 10mm bolts. If you loosen them and with the drop glass fully up and door open, push the top of the glass towards the car and retighten the 2 bolts. It should reduce the gap between the glass and the rubber and hopefully stop the water coming in. Worked one my old Z3 after I got a wet seat one darts night out.

Went out today - Baltic, so no serious work - and found that I can manually pull the driver's side window by almost an inch upwards. Something definitely needs adjusted! In the meantime if I do that, water can't get in. I'll strip the door down over the winter, door handle seals also need replaced, provided the door trim comes off easily? I've heard reports of difficulty lifting it up and off.

A set of plastic trim tools is a good investment. Nothing too difficult and if a couple of the trim buttons are broken or AWOL give a shout, I have a few.
