Welcome from Weybridge!

Gliptone dye is very good, but I read they have stopped trading? Best call and confirm before parting with cash!

Seats rocking is an easy fix, just buy the new washers from Ebay, then put your seat fully forward, take out the rear 2 bolts of seat base, then put the seat fully back, then disconnect the battery, then take off the front 2 nuts, and out comes the seats! At that point you may find a bit of leather to send off for the dye?

Follow the guide to put the washers in, but make sure you can just press them in by hand, if you force them in the seat will not work properly. Sand the washer facings down to make them fit.

Many thanks to all those that made suggestions over who to go to for leather colour dye to repair the scratched and cracked leather seats in my Z3 2.8 trimmed in the unusual colour of Moss Green.

It turns out that Gliptone has gone out of business. Step forward Chester-based Staingard that is in the process of buying them.

I went up early morning last week from home near Shrewsbury – a pleasant cross-country blast with plenty of fast twisty bits. James went to endless trouble to scan the existing leather and then blend/mix the right colour. An hour later I was on the way armed with cleaner/solvent, colour and a bottle of specially-mixed clear polish to recreate the shiny patina. The repairs are done by dabbing-in the colour bit by bit and then drying each area with a hair dryer before a final top coat of the clear polish – and another blast with the hair dryer. Finish off with plenty of leather mosturiser The end result is truly excellent and £60-£70 well spent.

Staingard may be able to post more standard colours and the other bits to you. Just call them on 01244 888658 . http://www.staingard.co.uk/ The Gliptone website will be back soon.

Glad it has worked - good info - they're on my doorstep and I didn't know.
