Just out of interest @Sean d, could you not leave the strips off the BMW hardtop after re-spray?
I considered filling them so it was smooth and rounded but the water would run straight down over the side windows if it rained, you could leave them off but then it would look unfinished like the wiessman does ;):D:p

As you can see I acquired it with no rear window and in need of considerable repair. Another member bought it from me and carried out the required repairs and it now graces an ///M.:)
