I would be happy to see about getting sets of these manufactured in stainless steel if anyone has an old set they could loan me to get all the measurements.

I think BMW had ordered a new batch. But last time I heard on here a couple of months ago they had been delayed.

Never seen aftermarket.

Good offer. I would be interested.

I don’t have a set though.

I think mine will be dust when they come off.

I’d be interested in a couple of sets, if anyone is able to manufacture some stainless steel ones.

@Antm72 is the man to ask, I'm sure he was on the trail recently.

Can anyone tell me if they are the same parts for all Z3 variants. If so, then I would look to getting something like 50 sets made as a way of keeping costs down.

Just checked RealOEM and it lists the same part numbers for both straps for all models - coupe and roadster.

What about E36 saloons Jim, might be worth seeing they're the same?

Tony.

Looks like it’s only Z3 not the E36

I tried to get a new set one i have the other never materialised. Must get the £57 back from BMW as its not going to happen now.
One thing i would say is , they are not replaceable unless the subframe is out , if it could be got round in design it would be great.
I thought about cutting the new strap if it arrived and welding a flat joiner and captive nut in so it could be done in 2 bits as it could then be replaced with the beam in, may be workable but would add to cost i suppose.

Would both of the straps need to be in two parts?
At this stage, it could be designed in if that would make it a better and easier solution.
I assume that it is possible to get the the two fixing bolts without the beam out.

Neither will fit with out being cut im sure the bolts are accesible it just the staps push over the top.
From these pics the bolts look to be in good space so should be ok.

If you can get a 2 part easy fit design incorporated I think you would sell several times as many.

This could be a fantastic project. Stick with it!

I will help if I can if I get a decent set to copy. But even a knackered set will have the basic shape still present to copy.
