Z3 Front Struts - are Sport struts different?

My Z3 has broken a front spring which has punctured a nearly new tyre. Great. I've got the struts off both sides as I reckoned I should change both springs, and those are on back order from BMW. Now I find that the dampers don't seem too clever either - well they are 18 years old.

Here's the question. I know the Sport springs are different from standard, but are the struts the same as on other Z3 models? Mine is a 2002 2.2 Sport roadster.

I would say that there’ll be a difference between sport and standard shockers. Look on Real.OEM or call Sopers.

Thanks Tony. I've just been trawling through Realoem and putting in all sorts of different types of Z3. What it seems to show is that the struts for 6 cylinder cars are all the same, part no. 31316753257 (LH strut). Only the 4 cylinder cars show a different part number.

That would appear to be good news. Then I would contact a seller of your preferred type (Monroe for example) and ask if they list the same ones for sport and standard suspensions.

Tony.
