The Z3 electric roof microswitch 54348407250 is another item which seems to fail. The switch on my Z3 was fine but due to fatigue the cables had failed in the roof hinge.
The microswitch supplied is almost identical to the original BMW one. It will fit into the existing housing perfectly.
The microswitch has a fly lead attached which is long enough to reach down and behind the passengers seat.
The switch can be easily spliced into the existing cabling using the supplied solder heat shrink.
I have also included an over-sized length of additional heat shrink to hide the join and "make good". The join is easily hidden by and tucked into the frame work of the roof.
Installing the replacement took me approximately 30 minutes and can be completed using basic tools.
I am asking £25.00 including postage which I think is very good value.
An OEM part is approximately £75.00.
