z3 door locks

I have a 1998 Z3 1.9. I recently had the vehicle painted and the body shop removed the fenders and trunk. Since I received the car back the doors will not unlock from outside or inside. I do not have a fob. When I turn the key the lock button moves up but does not unlock. I tried leaning against the door and turning the key, but nothing happens. Any ideas? Because the key also unlocks the trunk, could it be an electrical issue?

I now need the part number for the central locking unit A104 ZKE on a BMW Z3 1999 1.9 cc. Can any one help please. There are some second hand items on Ebay but with different part numbers. I don't want to disturb too much behind the glove box. Can anyone help. Thanks

Do your electric windows work?
I had an issue with my bodyshop "forgetting" to connect the electrical plug, which sits by the door hinge, when re-hanging the door. The plug will be inside the footwell wing (behind the footwell speaker) if it hasn't been connected.

I hope it isn't this, as it is a horrible job with the doors attached. Took me hours and hours (and much swearing and grazed skin).
