Z3 boot emblem

Can anybody confirm how the actual characters Z3 should be attached to the boot lid. Should there be locating pins or just adhesive? If adhesive what should you use?

While polishing Zed bodywork today, and applying Autoglym high protection seal the`Z' and `3' just came off leaving a gooey mess on body.

After the obligatory I think that when the new boot lid was fitted, the body shop have glued them on and the Autoglym has dissolved the glue.

The Z & 3 are stuck on with 3M double sided tape from factory which if you buy a roll you should be able to carefully re-apply to the back of the badges once cleaned up of course and trim to the correct shape with a very sharp craft knife.

Thanks - it's still under guarantee so I'll take it back to body shop. I can now tell them how it should be done.

That's how they should have done it in the first place Colin. The same thing happened to me soon after I got my car.

The positive is I now know Autoglym Extra Shine Protection is a good glue remover!
