Z3 BMW Rear Window Quote.

Thanks @gookah , I bought the artmunster as a replacement for the window in my first export but when it arrived the stitching as well as the outer zip were so rotted that I bought a new top. The window in my TOO car is cracked so I will do a little hand stitching and install it into it. Did you ever contact the co regarding your problems, I'd be interested in t their take on the cloudiness as well as the buckling. JIM
I fitted an AMD window to mine and touch wood, no issues with fit, or otherwise so far, guess I will have to see what the future brings.

Once you have restitched you will have to loosen the glued down material from around the zipper in order to change it out. Are you planning on DIY or calling in a mobile installer. If the installer they will do the stitching for a bit more $$$$. JIM

No I just put it down to experience. I spent that long trying to get the zip to line up I was worried that the fraying caused to the hood zip was becoming so bad that I would end up replacing the roof as well. I wasn't going to dare trying another one with more than likely the same problems. I will live with this one for the time being and probably spend £325 on a complete new roof from Croydon next time.

I'll let the professionals do it buddy less the cows in the field learn many expletives!

Are the new hoods £325 fitted in croydon? as might be better paying the extra & just getting a new hood in the spring as my window is not leaking at moment .

Just be aware that no one makes a replacement top with the zip in window that I've been able to find. So if your new window cracks you'll need to remove the top to get another sewn in. Most tops do come with a five year warrantee though. HTH JIM

Yes fully fitted, black or blue mohair are same price and they are excellent quality. See mine here:

been on for two years now and still looks great.
My son had his done at the same time. and I had one on a previous Zed.
quite a few other members have used them and been happy with the workmanship.
The window on my previous post is on my wife's Zed.

yes that's correct unfortunately, but if you are careful with the roof and window it should last a good while. I always check my window is folding horizontally before fully lowering the roof, When it starts folding with a vertical crease is usually when they split.
If it lasts me 5 years its equivalent to a spend on a tankful of petrol a year. and the rate I open the roof it has some serious use in that time.
Roof closed is for washing and rain only,

My experience has been that reputable co's appreciate customer feedback good, bad and ugly. They may have offered to replace it or refund your money and likely would have had you ship the defective item to them for quality control checks to find out what had caused the problems which in your case were twofold. Cloudiness as well as the buckling I'm sure would have caught their attention. As you still haven't changed the window I'd give it a shot, got nothing to lose at this point. JIM

That's my suggestion to get things started, can't hurt at this point to contact them and see what they have to say! JIM
