I am making up some more of these chrome trims for the standard Z3 ( Not for M version Z's).

Makes no difference... The Z3 - non M version cars have a symmetrical cut out for the gearshift..
So, no problem.

Ah! So sorry, I thought it was the carbon effect panels as well as the gear lever surround!

The carbon effect is simply the stick down vinyl. Easy enough to do also though. You need to remove the center console which is quite simple.
