Z3-250swb build

Hi z3 community. Finally but the bullet! Got an entry level 1.9l z3 run down. Project car for that 250swb kit. I was an Alfa man but now vw/Audi. But Ferraris are my passion- alas my pocket isn’t so next best thing:- z3 250swb homage edition. I have been collecting the bit and pieces for project for 5 years!! Will post photos of project and intend to do vids on build. Ye’ all.

I also have a 1.9 (M44) as the base for my rebody. Most other builders have 2.8 or 3.0

I used my 1.9 as the donor because I'd owned it almost 20 years so was, kind of, attached to it and I knew it inside out. The M44 is enough power for the way I drive but, I must confess, if I didn't have a donor already I think I'd have gone out and got myself a 3.0 just to make my trousers look bigger.

Anyway. Welcome to the forum. I'm looking forward to following your build thread.

They do come with downsides....mainly that 15" wheels don't clear the front brake calipers. Grinding brake calipers down is not ideal!
And 3 litres are much more expensive than anything else (except an M of course), which bumps up the costs before you even start.
But, as you say, I am having to wear larger underwear these days!
