Hi,

I bought my wife a 2.8 Z3 M Roadster in 1999. It has sat in our garage since 2012 and this last month we have had it fully restored and put back on the road.

Does anyone know how we can re code the radio its a BMW Business RDS six disk changer, car radio? It asks for the code but we have lost it in the annals of time?

Does anyone have a valuation for a car like this. Its done 54400 miles we are the only owners its in mint condition? WE want to put the right value on it but do not know what to place the value at?

Hi Tom

That's good mileage and will help with the valuation, the full restoration, what was involved? The 2.8 is still in plentiful supply so prices are not sky high and outside the 3.2 M variants (the 2.8 is not an M) the 3.0 commands a higher price as it is a rarer car. A top spec 2.8 will probably fetch £5-£6k on the open market. I have mine on an agreed valuation of £8k through my insurance company, you'll get a bit more possibly.

Hi Tom and :welcome: from me in Stafford. I would think that as you're the original owner the dealer would be able to provide the radio code for you.

You has the car from new? You still have the leather bundle with the owner's manual? In the bundle should also be the the manual for the radio.

I still have my original user manuals and, if I remember rightly, there's a card or sticker in the radio manual with the code.
