Welcome from Ireland!

I have a 2.8. 35 - 36 miles to gallon. Minimal costs. Both dependent on how and how often they are driven.

I’ve had mine six years - spent £1400 on the mechanical side back in 2012 other than that I replaced a wheel bearing. The car has sailed through its MOT year on year.

Bought the car with 67000 miles - currently has 84000.

Garaged - driven on dry roads only.

Hope this helps.

I've had mine down to 15mpg at Silverstone :coolsteer).
Under normal road use it's usually mid 30's to the gallon, at legal motorway speeds it's better than that according to the obc.

When I first got my 2.8 I thought the fuel consumption would be high, but was very pleasantly surprised, it's far better than I expected :).

That's not what Sara said as we pirouetted around a corner ;).
I think that was the same corner we had a moment on

Z3 2.8 pre-facelift in Montreal Blue
like @Antm72 and @Jack Ratt I bought my pre-facelift 2.8 partially for the styling, but I only wanted a six anyway. (although if I had the space, I'd like to turbo a M44!)

The 2.8 averages 27-28mpg which tends to be A and B roads. She isn't a daily drive, just evening and weekend fun when its sunny, so it isn't driven that conservatively either.

I can't really comment on motorway mileage as I've only once been on a motorway in it! We don't have motorways over here in the east!

I had a 1.9 and 2.8 while I searched for the car spec I really wanted, the facelift 2.2 sport, red with lotus white interior I have now, I averaged about 28mpg in the 2.8 and now 32mpg in the 2.2. of the two cars I would buy the 2.2 again instantly, I think it's the better car for my needs. I love the 6 cylinder engine feel and sound, the 2.2 is plenty nimble and fast enough for realistic road use, and for me handled the twisty stuff that little bit better than the 2.8. For me a sports car is not about absolute power but roof down country lane cruising, I did find the 1.9 a little underwhelming, and the 2.8 not as nimble as I wanted. As soon as I got my 2.2 sport, I became a very happy bunny indeed, it was the best overall balance I wanted, just love it.
