just a quick update still on the 2.8 project and finding my way around it. front shocks are in the process of being swapped with some from my lower mileage and newer ones i kept off my 1.9.... they were replaced about 5 years ago so still newer than the 22 year old originals...

I have been gradually refusrbishing small bits and pieces.. i have put the two sills on that @mwpe donated to the project last year and have also fitted the front bumper donated from @mrscalex a few weeks ago in the meantime i fitted a pair of new horns and give all the front undertray a good clean... and generally cleaned up all the front end..

I have also wire brushed and painted up the rear trailing arms and x brace and exhaust and associated pipework front wing is almost ready to refit after some patching up and painting... new front drop links fitted, and i have ordered new duraflex front lollipop bushes... i have yet to remove the front anti roll bar but thats going to be done over the weekend to be cleaned and painted ready for new anti roll bushes

new gear knob.. fitted front windscreen pillar wrapped in carbon fibre... diff oil changed... both seats have been removed and been fitted with new bushes and seat belt runners repaired and leather patched up and repainted. not brilliant but will do for now...

its all go here and was hoping to m.o.t. it last week but delayed due to bad weather so looking to next date 6 july.. as my motorbike insurance lapses that day...

pics soons

quick update not a lot been going on really... other than replaced the door handle rubbers antenna grommet, took radiator off and flushed the system through, give the viscous fan a good clean and wire brushed the cooling fins part...made some carbon stone gaurds for the rear wings...new seat bushes fitted to passenger as Angela ( the Boss) noticed they were rocking badly when we were up the closed farm track...!!!!!

Just waiting really until the end of the show season then going to take the 1.9 off the road and run the 2.8 for a few months during winter, and book it in for a new roof at jack smiths once its on the road Legally so to speak...

Had a message off Matthew the previous owner of the car we have met a few times, and met him at brecon classic show a few weekends ago, Any way Matthew just messaged me and has found a load of paperwork for the 2.8, the car was originally his dads, and his father had passed away and left it to him. so i think a lot of ther paperwork had got lost in his parents house.. so going to pop over next week to retrieve some of that... always good to have some history.. he said there is an invoice in there for it being imported in 2010...

be interesting reading to see what was done to the car.. there is a nice hartge exhaust system on it.. makes me wonder if any other engine work or tuning was done as it goes very well.. on closed farm roads of course...!!!!!!

pics later

Is it entirely wrong that i might end up buying another Z in montreal because i miss looking at the colour. The ping when she's clean.
