Car I have wanted for many years. Now owned it for twelve months; bought it on my birthday 28-6-2019

But now catalytic convertor has failed and it's in local garage awaiting new one that they are having difficulty finding. Anyone out there had problems finding a new cat.?

I had a 1.9 had 3 cats in the 6 years i had it, cheap aftermarket cats struggle with emissions and don't last, unfortunately genuine Cats are very expensive so plenty of cheap ones about

If it's the M44 engine, only OEM cats will work to pass MOT in my experience.

I have a genuine OEM cat on it's own you can graft into your system to replace the duff one, this is off a facelift 1.9 but probably the same unit.
