You Only Live Twice - Toyota

Going through the recently aired Bond films Patridge style I couldn't help but notice a cracking little white convertible coming to James rescue in You Only Live Twice driven by the admirable Japanese Bond girl Akiko Wakabayashi. A little research revealed it to be an ageing Toyota 2000GT.

Thinking I could see myself and my own admirable Asian wife in it I looked further into the prices.....how does $1m sound?....probably stick with the Z3. I'm sure they had no idea when filming just how valuable those cars would end up being!

If I recall correctly the car was a special made for the film.

Toyota only made the 2000GT as a coupe but apparently Sean Connery couldn't fit in the coupe so 2 convertibles were specially made for the film.

I spent a couple hours browsing through all the new drop-tops available, just a few days ago. There's nothing I like as much as my Z3 under $150k.
