Yes it is hot.

We "are" at war. Our resources are committed and we're experiencing the economic consequences of being at war. Only difference is it's not our boys and girls going home in body bags.

Agreed, but most of "joe public" don't appreciate this. We need some proper reporting, not short term sensationalism.

I agree. But you won't get that from the media. The whole 'news' infrastructure is designed to deliver current doom, gloom and 'entertaining' soundbites. Even if they have to make it up or exaggerate a bit.

But the number of children who starve to death each day doesn't make the papers at all because it's not new and certainly not entertaining and because people can't get their heads round the numbers (around one child every 3 seconds. Do the math.) So people won't read or listen to it and just switch off or buy a different newspaper with a report about a parrot doing somersaults and tits on every other page.

So. In fact, we're almost as much to blame as the govt and the media. We consume their drivel and they'll continue churning it out as long as there's a demand for it.

hasnt hit 40 today and BBC news I can tell are disappointed- but they still have to say its above average blah blah blah, global warming blah blah, Govt fault blah blah

Some people really need to be nannied by the state. Unfortunately common sense isn't that common any more.

In the words of Peter Kay, "It's called summer, get a Solero and shut the f@#k up!!"

I dont agree with a lot of what Domnic Raab says but think he is spot on when he says people should be more resilient and to enjoy the weather

Many people pay a lot of money to experience these types of temperatures, ok , in less humid conditions maybe, but it’s only for 1 more day. 22 degrees. and rain forecast for Wednesday.

Tony.

The local news really trying to justify it all this evening. Stated highest temperature they had for the East Midlands at the time of broadcast was 36.2C beating the previous record of 36.1C!

Also, the ambulance service has had 1600 calls today, which he quickly mumbled was average for the day!

As usual the weather is not playing ball and living up to all the hype.

Never mind there's always tomorrow! 🌞😎

Travelled down to Camborne this morning, had a break at Taunton services outside temp 30C if to be believed but was time to put the aircon on. As soon as I hit the A30 heavens opened up I thought there’ll be a few moaners about rain now. Sun came out afterwards and had a nice sweaty afternoon a lot cooler now compared to where I live last night. I’ve not long FaceTime’d the ‘hun’ and still quite hot and humid. Make the most of it before normal service is resumed.
