But it is going to get Hotter.

Tony.

Just enjoy and take sensible precautions - sun cream OK and water OK, but not sure where to put the extra engine oil though - suppose it could enhance the tan!!.

I appreciate that there are situations where the heat can be dangerous, but am I the only person who thinks that the media is whipping this whole thing up into a massive panic stricken, end of the world type frenzy!?

Couldn't agree more. If this is so called global warming, I like muchly, bring it on. :)

What heat wave? Yesterday I had a jumper on all day plus a jacket when I went to the shop. One inch of snow in winter and panic, now hysterical warnings about hot weather, 'It could reach 40 deg on one day' !!! Well it was over 40 every day for months where we used to live in Spain. Just normal, no panic.=))

Yes, you’re right Keith, like in the winter when they predict Armageddon when all we see are a few flakes of snow. It just gives the met. office some sense of self importance.

Tony.

Just wondered, when it's really hot, like 30C plus, do you drive top down or top up Aircon on?
Personally I prefer the top up when it gets above about 28C, but I'm not very hardcore any more.

Just spent a week based near Tenbury Wells with the family, a superb week exploring the English Heritage Sites but hot, holy moly 🥵 Now back in the frozen North where it's a tad cooler, which is nice.

Aircon works well with the roof down, nice cold air stream through vents. :)

Media etc getting even more hysterical! 'It may reach 40 degrees' so 'tyres may burst' !! Well I don't remember that happening in temperatures above 40 for days on end during the eight years we lived in Spain.

The media seem to like "gloom and doom"; the faces of most presenters look like they have bitten a lemon when reporting the weather recently.
Today should be a lovely summer day, keep hydrated and enjoy! :)

If it was going to be 42C in Aberdeen and 32C in London, I don't think we would have heard much about it. With news reporting, as with so much else in this country, the world revolves around London.

It's not just the media in a frenzy, HMG are just as bad - 2 COBRA meetings over the weekend =))
