Our son passed his driving test yesterday :p
I'm so pleased for him ;)
I couldn't wait for his phone call to say yes or no ;)
He took his theory and their was a 10 week wait for his test ;)
But I'm so happy he's passed :)
What a 21st birthday present ( as its his birthday on Wednesday) ;)
1st time too :):)

Nice one.
Do they still not give you driving lessons on the motorway in the UK and then when you have passed your driving test, let you loose on it?

Congratulations to your son

Congratulations to him Shelly not as easy now as it was back in our day .:scorecard:

Still the same Mike although most driving schools now give motorway lessons after but not mandatory.

No ...... :p
No lessons on the motor way :)
It's up to you to tackle that one ;)
But I think you can do a course if you want too ;)
But think it's a bit expensive ;)

Yes it's much harder now :p
A young lad failed his test yesterday but the instructor said he wasn't ready :(
But he wanted to try :)
He wanted to try and save some money so didn't want to do many lessons ;)

Around about your 3rd lesson over here you are on the motorway.

No motorways close enough to do that here :p
You would need a days lesson to do that :)
You would get on one and would be miles away from home to get back :)

Is he going to buy a tractor now them, or a combined harvester..;)

Both ...... :p
He will need either one of those now :)
As the roads are in terrible condition :(

Noticed that when we rented a car over in the UK a couple of weeks ago, potholes as big as bomb craters.
Being a small country. over here you are only ever a few miles away from a motorway.

Yes ...... :p
The roads are terrible :(
It's a shame as the cars get ruined :(

Roads are great over here but should be, as we pay enough road tax.

Are we cruising the motorways when we pop over h/t! Congratulations to your son Shelly. Our Jack passed first time and my best mate who was a driving instructor at the time took him on a motorway for a hour and did his pass plus with him. He runs regularly to Lancashire now up the M6 to see his girlfriend at Uni with no dramas. It's just common sense and a bit of practice. I would suggest that yourself or Alan take him on a motorway for a bit first just to see how he handles it. It should be part of training and the test in my opinion.

Well done this is great news he can pay back all the lifts you have given him throughout the years

Is he getting a Zed :p

I think I need sunglasses!

is he going on the Zeds insurance? thats the next milestone for him, affording to insure something. Maybe @BMBabe can come up with a special rate for a 4 cylinder z3!

Not in the part of the country you will be but you will notice during your trip that there are a lot of what are called motorways but for you guys will look like dual carriageways.
