Had a lovely day yesterday, visiting Wray Castle, north west corner of Windermere in the Lake District. Glad the road was fairly quiet from newby bridge to wray, it was just a tad narrow in places and very twisty. The castle is quite impressive, and the paths are well sign posted and well maintained. I had a lovely circular walk from the castle through the woods, on to the shore line, then back to the castle with a little picnic at the end of the walk. I saw a tree hopper but couldn't get a photo of it. There are some quite impressive trees in the grounds too, they look ancient.
