As a change from making unicorns I thought I'd try making a unicorn. Not got far yet, but it's definitely on the way.
So, start with some ply.

And whittle away at it till it looks like this.

Might as well do something with the off-cuts.

Like glue them together.

And some more glued bits.

There may well be more to come.

Just as soon as there's time to get on with it outside, it keeps raining round here and there's some paintings drying in the shed. Damn this summer weather.

Got a bit more done, largely because I'm a lazy tw@. At least I'm honest.
Did a load of sanding.

And some more sanding.

And a bit more.

Got a drill and a chisel? You too could turn a little horn. Fnarr fnarr.

And just to help turn out this woodwork malarkey, here's a new (second-hand) toy.

Quite a scary beast, but it chomps through wood like a fat girl chomps through cake.

Well, that took a while, but I got there in the end.

Then they turned brown.

And, to cut a long and boring story short, it got finished this morning.

Quite pleased with it, I must say. First try at anything like this.

And you can sell the manure! They say it's rare so it should fetch a good price.

Showed it off to a few friends, as you do, and got a commission to make another (don't tell her I was going to do at least one more anyway) she says it's for her son but he's only six months old so I doubt it. Still, a good excuse to break out the big chompy saw and make some noise, keeps the neighbours on their toes.

It's on the way.
