Expired Wiper Arm and Motor set

The Z3 has fallen victim to some vandalism last night and the wiper arms have been bent on both sides. Wouldn’t be surprised if the motors are toast as a result. Looking for a new assembly to pop on.

It would appear the culprit dropped his Gym card in the scuttle panel whilst in the act.

Have you taken the arms off and checked the motor/mechanism works. You would have to go some to damage ..or even move them tbh.

The wiper spindle bushes are well known for wear causing the wiper to catch on the back edge of the bonnet as they change direction. Check for paint worn off. My 2000 Z3 had this. Worth checking because if they are worn you will need a link set.

Managed to get a set on Fleabay. Treated it to some new wiper blades and managed to drive into Glasgow’s ULEZ when collecting so a £30 fine will be headed my way.

Expensive jaunt out.

spoke to the rozzers the morning after. Took some details and tried to phone the gym where this chap is a member.

Of course, the police can’t say that the gym membership card is that of the culprit. “ someone may have found it on the street and put it on the scuttle panel.”… yeah….nah it’s gonna be this guy.

Hercule Poirot isn’t required.

Mechanism seems to be working fine at the moment so have got away with it. Could have been a lot worse.
