hi sean i think this the best use for all covers keeping tree sap bird muck & dirt off the fabric as it seams they all let water in if not cause condensation & then mold the bodywork will cope with the weather yes we like birds but not when leaving little messages on the fabric top.

When you look at my storm force cover and see whats on it i.e bird crap and sap and moss and grime and a lot of god knows what (there are trees around us here) then i'm glad I have saved my paint, there are a few golden rules and they are to wipe the car down before putting on the cover and also to make sure the cover is tight and on a nice day take it partly off so it can properly dry out under the cover even though it is a breathable cover its still worth doing :)
been using a cover for years and it never damaged the paint just as long as you follow a few simple rules and anther plus point is the disks don't rust and you don't need to clean the car before you go anywhere :)

Just a little tip I just thought of is I have valve covers for the tyre valves that are green when the air pressure is ok and go red when it drops, its a good visual marker to warn you as I don't drive the car from one week to the next, got then on e-bay for just a few £ :)
