Woke up this morning opened the curtains and discovered this :eek:
20171124_082020.webp
And i thought ah a dusting of snow a bit closer to home .:eek:
But no what you are actually looking at is a covering of wet snow that melted a bit then rapidly froze solid (black ice everywhere) once i eventually got the passengers door open ( the better side ) and got the engine fired up took another 20 mins or so to clear the windscreen and 2 front side windows.
Sprayed de-icer on the windscreen and all that happened was the snowy ice turned blue but didn't really go anywhere. :meh::meh:
Result Lynne and i both way late for work this morning :(:(

I never waste money on De-icer I always do and always have used warm water to clear my cars of ice.

Tony.

ps. I often wonder how many million gallons of De-icer and screenwash fluid goes down into the water system?

Along with oil , fuel anti freeze and many other things that get deposited on our roads then washed off

I agree mate, but even cars without any leaks still use screenwash. just wonder where it all ends up.

Tony.

On the main street here, that was famous for its avenue of trees, they have cut them all down as they were being poisoned by the use of road salt.

Core blimey governor that looks dam cold :wideyed:.
Hope the cold weather doesn't drop too far south .

It's been 6c even in the lovely sunshine so I had two coats on while working outside .

Steve i hate the winter but only cause i have to work out in the cold and i hate the cold

I know how you feel mate it's horrible for you.
I don't like site work in winter as it's colder in the houses than it is outside, untill we get the heating up and running, at which point we're done and have to move onto the next one :meh:.
Worse for you and @t-tony especially when the cars you work on are dripping wet as well.

Joys of the job Steve.
But you are right spent this morning under cars thought it was raining inside once you get to this time of year everything you seem to work on is wet or dirty or both.

It can be difficult doing our job when you can hardly feel your fingers. Mostly though we do have heat. Only the lads in the tyre bay at the front have no heat on. I wouldn't do that.

Tony.

It's very cold here too :p
But it is nearly December ;)
It's white here too ;)
