Does anyone have a method of getting rid of the dreaded wing mirror spider? You know the one, when you get to the car there is a small web from the wing mirror to the door or, just across the glass. You brush it all away but of course next day it's back, because the little critter lives behind the glass. You can occasionally glimpse it but before you can do anything it scuttles back behind the glass.

Just give it a name and you have a new pet!:)

I had one in the mirror on my Cavalier a few years ago and every morning i used to tip the ash off my early morning smoke out of the window into it's web. And every day it would come scuttling out and grab it's breakfast in the shape of a limp of hot fag ash. It soon let go and went back home in the mirror. Made me chuckle every time.

Mines called Aragog (from Harry Potter). Didn't name them when I lived in Oz though, just ran away!:(

if it's Boris, he may leave soon

That's a nice looking Z you have there, not seen one in that colour combination.

Throw a fly into the web and when the little sucker come out to feast grab him and give him a stern telling off.;)

Very carefully prize the mirror glass from the motor adjustment mounts then undisclosed the 4 screws the release the covers
Wash and dry all the above and check no signs of spider. Reassemble and repeat weekly.

OR
As suggested above give the new pet a name.

......... plan "B" , when you wash the car, rinse the mirror casings with a pressure washer. I ain't got no spiders;)

Thanks, It's Hellrot II and Lotus White, took me literally years to find, I did have black Zed as a stopgap while I searched for this one, which was the combination I wanted, and when I found it it turned out to be a real peach of a car. Absolutely love it.
