hi guys me again, beginning to wish i paid a bit more and bought a better z, as everything i touch has already been bodged and putting it right is starting to get expensive, anyway thought id have a look at the wing mirror today as one of the bolts holding it to the door was loose so took the covers off as couldnt turn the mirror to get to the bolt and found it had been packed with mastic to stop it wobbling like a bobble head:(
Ive removed all the mastic now i have a wing mirror thats no good to anyone.
Is there a fix for this please, or is it a case of buy another,:(
Any advice will be much appreciated

Right went back out there and took covers off turns out it was all held together by glue, and mastic.
Bloody good glue fair play=))
So does any of you have a good drivers side mirror please could you drop me a message and price with postage, will need it all. All i have now is the covers there was no wires coming from the mirror
And all thats on the car is a rusty stump

I reckon the inside collet rusted. Here is a cheap fix that I did - if it's the same failure point.

Yes the base is rusted and jagged and the mirror part half is missing and just a ring like washer inside it
