Primer and sprayed in gloss white it's almost blinding when you open the bonnet, I think it's because I'm so used to seeing the dirty old look, but it definitely makes the engine bay area look new or it helps in a big way

a good tip to clean the inside, is to put some small gravel inside with some fairy liquid and water, and give it a good shake up

i do the same but with dry rice and then rinse out

then it goes in the dishwasher

Yeah I myself was thinking black but the white won as I stood in halfords staring at the tins of paint

Looks good. I did mine this weekend with cillit bang, an old washing up brush and dishwasher. Wish I’d read about the rice/gravel technique before I did!

Just thinking about when these washer bottles are being painted. Unless the fluid level is still clearly visible through the paint maybe it might not be a bad idea to have a vertical narrow strip of masking tape on the side nearest the engine or the front which would allow the fluid level to be observed through the unpainted section after the tape is removed.

I 'improved' mine ny cleaning it last week with a bit of toilet de-scaler. Looks clean but has stopped pumping the water! I havent got round to investigating yet but I am hoping its an air block, as the motor still works.

Some of the old Talbot cars, Alpine etc. had a glass overflow bottle on the cooling system, and this was the best way to clean out all of the crap which built up inside of them.
