I hope this isn't just me that has experienced this, or that I'm dreaming it.

But a number of times in recent past I've had people use their windscreen washer jets for what I believe is the sole purpose to try and spray into my car with the roof down? Obviously this doesn't work! As you know if you are driving along and it starts raining you don't get wet until you stop.

You may think I'm being paranoid and I would chalk it up to that too but a few weeks ago I overtook a guy on a dual carriageway who then ragged his Vectra to get past me, pulled in front and then 'cleaned his window' for an extended period of time. I then just overtook him again and he was laughing at me as if he had somehow just pulled the most amazing prank!

They are not called windscreen washer jets, they are called tossers.....

Never had that, although I have not had the chance to drive much with the roof down since I bought my Z.

At 17 we spun the water jets on a Talbot Samba and drove slowly (easy in a Samba) past the bus stop... But didn't everybody?

Sounds entirely plausible. Let's face it if we didn't drive Z3s/convertibles we'd probably find it funny. And if it happened to Victor Meldrew we'd definitely have a laugh at his reaction.

However we do drive Z3s. So it's not funny... in fact if someone did it to me I'd be pretty peed off. It's almost certainly a criminal offence. Deliberately splashing a pedestrian with gutter water is.

i know that people do this cos it happened to me once.

they even pulled up to me at the lights after and said 'nice shower?' in a sarcastic tone. i politely told them that it doesn't work like that and that funnily enough the windscreen does a pretty good job!

:D @Poprin I've had this too usually from white van man on the motorway you've got to chuckle as they really think they're soaking you.

Rise above it and just let it blow over you....ha ha;)
