The airflow definitely works in that way, I've been doing an entire project on it, and a Doug a degree in automotive design.
But it's unlikely to come flying off either way with those straps.

Yes, but you have to put them on backwards!
Speaking of which: I've been lurking around for the model below, but so far the ones I found a bloody expensive...
Personally I find that the airflow coming over the top of the screen and hitting the top of my head feels strong enough to remove hair so I hardly notice any benefit from the hoop deflector.....
That explains my Hair loss, and there was i thinking it was an age thing!
