Hi all, can someone please tell me if a wind deflector om my z3 will help reduce the wind coming up from the centre of the seats whilst driving?
I was driving today and the my side next to the door was fine, but the side of me in the middle was quite blowy.
Any advice appreciated.
Also what is the best type? perspex or mesh
Thanks
PS
Not sure if this is right as I have never posted before!!

Yes it definitely will. I wouldn't want to drive one without. I have a mesh oem one but it depends if you have roll hoops or not as to what you can fit. This is mine.

@Shortie_gal has used both the mesh and perspex

Yes it makes a big difference

There are different styles depending on if you have roll hoops or not

Well done on your first post

A wind deflector will transform the top down driving experience. Type depends on whether you have OEM roll hoops to hang the mesh or perspex type, failing that you can have a folding OEM framed mesh version. Some people prefer the p erspex as they object to the 'bar' at the top of the mesh being an obstruction to rear vision. At the end of the day it's personal choice. Ask @Bozzy as he's tried both :)

I have the perspex one. Secured with black velcro strips. Changed from the mesh one. Pros and cons with either and personal choice. My hubby made a batch of perspex ones so i have one of those and love the look. Its great to see out the rear view mirror and looks nice and clean. Only thing is you cant get into the top cubby hole very easily. But i dont really use it anyway.

Either of them are great for reducing wind within the car. I can wear my hair down without it blowing all over the place so win win! (Obv the higher speeds still wips up a little bit) :)

Yep tried both thanks to Adrian, mesh type for me as it doesn't mark the hoops and I can still access the rear storage box.

Hello mate, this link will give you some idea what's out there. A tad expensive new but there's plenty knocking about if you look.

I have a Perspex one from here
http://www.justroadster.com/
They are on eBay, but cheaper buying from them.
Never use the storage box, and the Perspex holds my digital aerial in place;)
But, Perspex is ok at lower speeds but once you get over 80, there is a lot of wind.
