Hey Stevie, I do run camber plates, with around -3deg. Tyre wear is not too bad as I live in a mountainous area. As they are 17x8ET20 and 17x9ET26 they will come out at the front another 8mm from my factory wheels with 20mm spacers. On the rear they will be the same as my factory wheels with 20mm spacers. I just have to source some hubcenbtric rings before I can install them

For now it's done!!! I don't care about the police... it's beautiful and with the 205/40/17 tires it won't touch anywhere. For now I'm going to enjoy the car like this and with time I'll look for a solution.
These looks great.
Seriously tempted.

With a bit of camber (2,5) and some lowering it’ll be fine.

This is mine test fitted with 5 series wide style 32’s in 17 inch - I think same offset as yours.
The rubber is quite fat - I think 235/40 on the front and 245/40 on the back so a bit to chunky but you can see how they’ll fine with a 225/40.

On the rear I think I had 25mm spacer - a 20 or 15 would be better.

I've gone down the rabbit hole and are installing some staggered Style66 wheels 17x8, 17x9 on my 1997 2.8 manual. I've installed some 20mm spacers on the original 17x7.5 and 17x8.5 wheels and they fit nice. I also have front camber plates and rear adjustable bushes so the alignment geometry is dialed in & optimised for handling. I have also selected some sticky Yokohama A052 tyres, as the current Michelin PS5 are reasonable but nothing like the Yoki's. I have them on another vintage bmw and they stick like a cat to carpet i wet or dry. I know the wear is not great but mine is an occasional use car, so I don't see the point in selecting good mileage tyres and replacing them due to age with heaps of tread left.
I’ve got PS4 on the Z and 5 on the 6 series and blown away by the grip.

My track tyres are Yoko AD08RS and when warm unreal.
But needs heat.
They very heavy and rigid sidewall so great on track but harsh on road - how do you find the A052 on road compared to the PS for that?

they look 😎

These look really good with the rubber so close to the wheel arch - would they bump on the arch when you go over bumps?

Probably would - I’ve only test fitted them and the rubber is too wide in that pic. I would use a 225 or maybe 215.

The car is lowered and runs firmer springs though - the wheel arch liners ‘self trim’ if they rub but I don’t think have what any of my various wheels rub actual body (bonnet)

Indeed and looks great for it, also like the Z3M wing mirrors really give it a sporty look over the standard barn door ones.

If its e39 wheels, you need "spigot rings." on ebay for a 5er for 4.

I find the 052 Yokohomas another level up in grip on the very good A08R

they are quiet and have grip straight away from cold compared to the AD08R tyres. They have more dry grip also. Cant comment on the wear yet but I’d image they would wear faster.

I'm having them installed this Friday morning with the style66 staggered wheels (17x8 et20, 17x9 et26). Im hoping clearance wont be too compromised at the front. Im pretty sure they woll be ok at the rear . Have the hubcentric rings
