Will I go to heaven

Best not to leave the battery plumbed in if the car is left for more than a couple of weeks. It's not an old wives' tale, it really does reduce the life of the battery. My brother managed to muller a year old Exide battery recently like that.

One problem a critically discharged battery can give or even just removing a battery, is throwing out the security rolling codes between the EWS and DME. Again, not an old wives' tale. That one happened to me last week when I borrowed the battery for a project car.

You can get smart battery chargers now that stop charging when the battery is fully charged, but monitor it, and top it up if it discharges. The make of one I have is CTEK. You can leave it plugged in all the time. (except of course if you want to drive the car!)...

Very true Allan, I got a Voche one for Christmas and it will be hooked up to the car when we go over to Fla. later this year.

Horse? Broken ribs? Been there, done that. What we call in the trade " 'kin painful". And the older you get the longer it takes to get sorted. Just don't sneeze/cough /laugh/brush your teeth/wipe your ar5e/pick anything up/roll over in bed/.........

I’m going to hell maybe not driven in two years but controlled sort of water ingress but has a load of goodies to go on when I’m home eventually. Just hoping the inside water ingress has not caused any permanent damage. May she forgive me and have a neglected wife to bring back to spec as well:whistle:

Hey Nefyn Cat , you forgot to mention passing wind  it's been about a month now so the bruising is going down and now it's the cold that reminds me of it.
Going to look into one of these trickle chargers of which Bonzo and Tony talk.
I have a quiet Saturday planned so if the weather holds out I can turn the tyres.
Keep safe one and all.
