OK so I've managed to source a low mileage (under 75k) 2.8 that must be close to the end of the wide body production run being built on 12th March 1999 and fitted with the M52/TU block.
Pick it up next week and can't wait but just have a question regarding one of the options - S694 Provisions For BMW 6 CD Changer.
My Z4 3.0i has the 6 CD changer provision which allowed me to fit the discrete Bluetooth adapter in the boot and negate the need for any adapter or cables in the cabin - a great plug and play cost effective solution.
So my question is does anyone know if the option in the Z3 accommodates the same device?

Different connectors to start with. The E46 and E85/86 have an I bus connection to the CD player. The Z3 does not have the I bus connection, so it will not fit the Z3.

Buggar - I think it's got an aftermarket head unit with an AUX connection so will have to differ to that - just prefer the Bluetooth option as it avoid the need for additional cables in the cabin
