After a few days in captivity me and Shirl got wrapped up and went for a walk down to the Trent for some fresh air, which only served to make our sore and swollen hooters even worse!!
It was a bit cold and windswept, river well up on normal levels, this downstream towards Gainsborough and you can see the old rail bridge where you can walk accross the river.
When we got back to the road we went accross to the Lock, and this is where the "Why?" comes from.
On the inner flood gates at the end of the Lock itself we saw numerous Teapots on the gates and wondered why they've been put there? Any sailors out there?
Tony.
