Nothing wrong with Big Country in my book. Saw them at a club in Dudley in the late 70's. Stuart Anderson, RIP, was a great guitarist

I put a 2mm thick rubber patch on each of my A pillars after numerous attempts to adjust the soft top.

........................my mind to fit a couple of rubber patches on the a-pillars.
Bad timing on Xmas Eve but are you sure you need patches Gaz? If it's the triangular rubber seal then it's usually the surrounding adhesive - just needs cleaning out (thin pointy object) - drying out (hairdryer - what else) and new silicone rubber squirting in gap. 20min job.
:ymdevil: I won't go off topic on the music :reindeer:

Happy Christmas

You might want lift the carpet a bit and check how much soaked in, it's amazing how much it water can get in from that small area and soak in the carpet there.

After having a look closely and poke around that area I could see why so much water comes in there: it's like a junction of water drainage pipes around there and if the 'bung' has shrunk a bit then all the water that rolls off the front of the hood down into that channel above the windscreen ends up pouring into the car via the shrunken bung rather than down the A pillars.

I shaped some rubber bicycle tube and bonded that to the roof side seal which has worked well to close the gap.
However this year it also wanted the actual 'bung' bit on the body side of the seal to be filled in. Have use blue tac until weather is good enough to fill it with black silicone.

I also cleaned out the little pipe ways I mentioned above that take the water away.
Just be careful what you use and advise lubricating with gummi pledge (rubber care spray) to avoid snagging and help clean it out. A small screwdriver (Philips head) can work if you careful or rounded of bit of coat hanger etc. Just be careful not to rip the rubber.

Thanks both, but in this case there is a gap of about 1mm big enough see daylight though the gap.

I have little doubt the under carpet foam is saturated, seen and dealt with it in the Zed shed when Panther was in. Luckily my parents have a small dehumidifier which I'm going to leave in the car for a while, primarily to try and stop it moulding up inside..

If you know someone who has an industrial wet/dry vacuum cleaner that should suck some of it out Gaz.

The sound proofing on a zed it really dense foam i remember my last zed having damp carpets when investigated i had an inch of standing water !
Getting the water out of the proofing is a job and a half i had to strip the car but hopefully you will be ok..
The stick on rubber cured this too

We squeezed a good litre of water out of the foam in Panthers passenger footwell. Oddly there can be litres of water in the foam but the carpet on top still feels relatively dry to the touch. Good stuff that foam...

If I need to strip the interior it's not a big job, but will try the dehumidifier first ;)

I'd try and get as much water out with a Vax or something like that. If there's lots of water its likely to take days or weeks for a dehumidifier to capture all the water out of the air without help. Remove as much water as you can first (even try and syphon it out with some pipe stuck under the carpet. Some moving air over the carpet/foam will help too, but, I can't see the foam giving the water up easily without direct access to it :(

A vax will suck out an amazing amount of the water though.

Hi @GazHyde and merry Christmas. I forget if your car has DSC or not but if it has the 2 sensors under the carpet don't like water so need to check and dry out ASAP, can get very expensive as I know.

Hope the rain finishes for the season soon as everybody is bored with it now but obviously not as much as those in Cumbria, best wishes to them especially.
