I have very much enjoyed my 1.9 Z3, mostly because it handles more precisely than any car I’ve ever owned, and that’s a long list. It’s much less scary than my Hillman Imp with a half-race head. It doesn’t feel as quick as my fastback Sunbeam Rapier, and I much preferred my Vauxhall Omega for long hauls. It’s certainly not about flat-out speed or tearing acceleration – I’ve been out-dragged from traffic lights by an Astra van – it’s just about everything coming together in a beautiful balance.

I hope others feel the same.

Quote of the year right there! Totally agree.

I'd loved my Z3 :p
Wish I had it now ;)

Very well put @Harryd

Tony.

ps. Just a personal point of view, but it's the same with a Z4 too!

og my god do i love my z3 m44 &you never guess but my dad owned a lime green fast back sunbeam rapier

You've been out dragged by an astra van =))=))=))=))=)) shameful.

Spot on about this though - everything coming together in a beautiful balance

I agree too, and it doesn't hurt having timeless good looks either... I watched a YouTube video on BMW roadsters the other day, they did the Z1 and skipped straight to Z8... Z3 was mentioned briefly if only to point out that us enthusiasts like to mention "it was Bond car you know!".....Yes, I was ever so slightly offended

Our neighbour had an H120 - matt battleship grey - quite a scary car. I enjoyed parking mine behind it.
Unfortunately, mine broke in half - the floor pan split from side to side, just behind the driver's seat.

'timeless good looks' - yes. There's something about it that looks like a homage to the 328, which didn't quite carry through to the Z4 (which I'm sure is a perfectly lovely model...)

My explaination is that the M44 Massive are the elite of the elite forum members and own the best motor in the 1.9. JIM

I don't think I've driven any car slower than I drive my Z3
Well, I wouldn't want anyone to miss it.
