At least its not the newly painted Zed.
No its the GT! Spotted it today 4 inch deep wavy scratch on the tailgate. May be my suspicious mind but can only see it happening as a deliberate act. Not sure when or where its happened, only thing for sure it will be footing the bill. So no presents or turkey for the kids this year.

Barstewards mate

I can empathise with you :(
Had my X5 keyed a couple months ago.

Happened to me only once 10 years ago on a brand new pick up, keyed all the way down one side.... Angry and sickened even now

Sorry to hear that Paul, there are some lousy ba***rds about. Will it polish out or will it definitely need painting?

Once happened to a work mate who had a brand new Chrysler Alpine in Peppermint green. Parked outside at work where the apprentices from Marshalls came out of work. Full length of his car.

Tony.

I do feel for you :p
I’d be so angry :(
It would break my heart :(

Some of it will polish but most well down to the metal, will have a go at polish and touch up but feel it will be heading to the body shop soon

:(:(

Tony.

This is one of the few things that gets my blood to boil so badly, that I can actually block out my back pain long enough to throttle those who are responsible.

Jealous swines who can't have what you've got, take their petty anger out on your car, as they are too cowardious to ever confront a person. I hope it's not going to set you back too much to get to have fixed. It's nothing but a royal pain in the backside to get it fixed properly, so you have my sympathy on this one!

Where I live in Oxford, the road our home is one, faces a small brooke and trees, which kids from the local school walk past all the time. When I use to own my E30 Alpina C2 2.5, I was parked outside, under my bedroom window. One night I was some noise outside, as my window is always open as I'm a smoker. I caught two little shits trying to break off the chin spoiler, which is the iconic Alpina signature. I managed to take photos of these little shits and got the police and school involved. Little runts had gotten in trouble, as they kept "granny knocking" on our doorbell, as our front porch, finishes right by the road, so they could keep pressing it and running off, until one day the local police officer connected to the school caught them in the act and they got in a heap of trouble.

That's a real bummer Paul, hope it doesn't hit your pocket too hard mate.:(
Final price depends on if it needs blending. 1 small scratch might have to be blended onto the 2 adjacent panels. At this point I'll stop pretending I know what I'm talking about. @Sean d is only an hour away from you. I'd be seeing if he can advise/fit you in. That black 3.0 Z3 he's doing looks really superb

Would imagine it will be the full tail gate that would need painting. In the process of touching up and compounding but not confident it will be acceptable.

Had a go at touching up and compound, would look OK on some old unkept run about but will always draw my eye and not really good enough, so off to the body shop its going. Had a very reasonable quote. The good thing the scratch is just to the side of the number plate and will only require the lower half of the tailgate doing and doesn't need feathering in so silver lining and all that.

Best of a bad job then mate.

Tony.

I feel your pain
Many years ago I owned an MG Midget had a full repaint
Feeling pleased went out for a run and stopped in a country pub I returned to the car to find it had been scratched all down the o/s
Just jealous some people are

Not even sure it's jealousy Craig, some people just like to destroy or damage things whether it's something they covet or it just happens to be there. Just mindless vandalism in many cases.:(
