As it was too cold to work on the car today, I decided to have a look at the two seat motors that had failed recently. These were both forward/backwards motion ones.
My thought process was that they didn’t work anyway so might as well pull them apart to see how they work!!
The result.......two working motors all reassembled and tested on the cars battery. :) ( I put a happy face as I couldn’t find a smug one !)

In both cases it was the brushes and the armature that was the problem. A bit of light cleaning with some wet and dry, washed with some wd40, dried and put back together.

So now I have two spare motors. I’m not after selling them as they could be useful to keep, but if anyone ever gets desperate and needs one, you know where there are a couple.

Don’t you just love it when it all comes together. A very satisfying day, well done.

Nice work @Mazza, I'd also feel quite chuffed if I had tackled that job .

Totally agree, my thinking too, can't make it any worse but you could repair it:thumbsup:
