Whisky

they don't take kindly to misspelt whisky.
the other spelling is just Irish coloured-water

I live about 30 minutes away, what is it you want to know?

Not so easy & depends what you want in a base.

Most of these distilleries are pretty remote and taxis are not the most common thing in the country areas.

My advice would be a couple of nights in Elgin (plenty to see & do & easy taxis) the a couple in Dufftown and then Craigellachie.

Obviously whisky is a personal taste, but all distillery tours are similar and some of the big guns have really impressive set ups - I would not miss Glenfiiddich (Dufftown) or Macallan (Craigellachie) in that respect - millions being spent on these set ups.
My personal tipple is Balvenie - again Dufftown.
