Thoughts please, the whine has got worse on my 2.8 1997. If I take the oil cap off it goes away, guess it’s pressure related. The car also feel a bit sluggish…You do need to listen carefully to the video
Had a new ccv kit and intake pipe last year, going to do a smoke test tonight but any further ideas would be appreciated.

oh and the other day when I went to check the oil the dipstick was very full, haven’t had it again though.

Cheers

This whining noise. Could it be air squeezing through a tiny gap or split?

Your description does suggest something in the engine breather, ccv area. Tell us what the smoke test shows.

Dip stick. Pull it out, ignore the oil level, wipe it clean, put it back in, pull it out and check the level.

Ok so there seemed to be a leak from the ice into the manifold, it may have not been pressed in fully and the pipe the runs from the inlet pipe to the manifold looks like it’s pretty old.
I’ll start it up shortly, but noise only seems to happen once the car is warm and have a list of jobs before that….

Ok so it’s still whining. Going to change the pipe running from the icv to intake pipe. Fingers crossed 🤞

also noticed the fuel pressure regulator pipe is detached, does this need to fit to somewhere on the intake manifold? Any clues to where?

cheers
