Is it possible the different plug options in the US are down to variants in their fuel compared to European fuels?

Just a thought.:)

I don't think so Tony, they would just apply a different set of ECU maps to control mixture and timing, much more precise method than just changing plugs.

Seems like the EKs are half the price of the EQUPs. (At Halfords at least!) - another reason to stick to the standard ones.

I find You can buy any version for the same cost through ebay, I've never tried the EQUP, went straight to EIX, I have not tried the Bosch variant either, I wonder if they do an upgrade plug also, going to have a look......

Well for Bosch you can use either FGR7DQP or FGR7DQP+ and the interesting thing is they are both 6kohm resistance and were factory fit, so we can dispell the 5kohm issue from earlier causing misfires
