Which fuel?

I use Esso E5 which in fact E0.

It's pricey though. If not I'll use E10 muck with Millers anti ethanol treatment.
Ahh, that explains it. Esso is my local and been wondering for months why their E5 price remained stubbornly high when others had lowered theirs

I have used Esso E5 since discovering this, the price around here is no different to Shell, a penny or so more than the supermarkets.

Even in rural France I know of one pump dispensing E85 fuel, bearing a sign that it is only to be used in engines designed for it.

E5 feels quicker in my 2.8...and if I polish it nice and clean feels even faster.

E10+dirty car does feel slower.

Not for long they are adding ethonal to it from September, it'll be E5.

This is a post from a gent from another car forum -

Even E5 gives problems particularly if you store the vehicle for a while... If you do, make sure you drain it all out particularly on cars and bikes with steel tanks.

I am seeing more and more bikes with rotted out tanks where they have been sored for even 12 months. it seems that you get an acidic condensate come off it that rots the top of the tank!

I had this one in recently that had been off the road for 2 years with half a tank of E5 fuel. The guy said he first noticed the paint was bubbling... then realised it was rust from the inside!

I had it sand blasted... you can see the extent of the pin holes from the light I put inside.

I know most newer cars dont have steel tanks, but you dont really need any more of this stuff than is neccessary

Hi.i use e5 in my z3 and my day car Audi competition. E10 is part ethanol and is not a good alternative. Any petrol vehicle has increased power and responsiveness with E5.Also if you get 99octaine.its markedly superior.after empty to full a couple af times.. fuel with ethanol added also produces more heat and less lubrication.
Not good for my old girl.

Only ever used super unleaded in mine since new as that was what was recommended by the dealer, V Power or Momentum (she does like that but station not loca)
