Hi
Whilst I've go my engine out I'm going to replace the clutch. The thrust bearing and friction plate definitely need doing (must be original and the cars done about 117k). I haven't got the dmf off yet but thinking of doing away with it and fitting a single mass. Which kits best? Has anyone tried an RTS kit? they are currently £340 which is cheaper than the Valeo and LUKs ones which are £380 upwards.

Any thoughts appreciated.

For the sake of 40 quid on a job like removing a gearbox personally I would stick with a "known" brand. But, its your money, not mine.

Tony.

When I( need to do this service I am also going to have the detent spring update done, not sure if that affects your Z like it does mine.

Thanks Tony.
I guess from your comment RTS aren’t well known?
I only want to this once! Like you said for £40 👍

Also well worth considering @Rudyrov suggestion because there will be no easier time to do the d'etent springs and pins. @Lee has done some detailed write ups on this subject.

Tony.

They're series of pins and springs situated in the selector mechanism which ensures you can only select 1 gear at 1 time. As they wear, the selection isn't that prestige any more.

I’ll add it to the list of things to do before I put it all back together 🫣😩

Personally I tried the Black Diamond sport clutch in the fast-road hardness and after two years it still feels very crisp nice, very pleased with the performance 😀 FYI I combined that with also a new guibo and powerflex diff mount.
