Only ever had one company car - a vauxhall astra 1.7D. They did away with the scheme after that thankfully. Thats when I got the 3L V6 405.
Can I put the Astra on the top of the pile?
Course you can... We can park it next to the 2.0 Astra Sport Estate I had for a while. Was frighteningly quick in a straight line, but didn't like corners.

Only had one metro - an MG. That was good for its day, until Gail shortened by several feet. That's another story....
Excuse me!!!!!!!! Being hit from behind when stationary by an idiot who ran a red light was hardly my fault!!!

The Astra 1.7d was just frighteningly slooow and ponderous. Oh, and noisy. And, un-cool. And not one I'd ever ever buy. It's still not top of my list though.

Peugeot 306 estate and Vauxhall Astra van, did not get on with these cars at all, in heavy rain I would have to stop at the road side in the Astra as the windscreen wipers were terrible, slow and stop were the only settings I think.

I've had and still have too many cars to even begin to think of which I'd want to watch Bigfoot stomping down on. This is an interesting thread for me Ian as I have to google the models as most never made it over the big waters to the shores of Canada. JIM

Thankfully cars last a great deal better than they used to. It seems that vauxhalls were the most disliked. They were probably sold as GM Opels over there - although it was the smaller cars a that irked most of us.

I had a green Rover sd1 but only a 2 litre....absolute pile of s..te
When it did run it would never get me to my destination cus it would break down :meh:
In between breaking down would cost a fortune in petrol...and i daren't turn it off to put fuel in cus it wouldn't re-start :rage:
When i washed it bits of body work would disappear :nailbiting:
But when i got a Vauxhall Cavalier turbo diesel i loved it ,great on fuel, quite quick, never broke down and stood up to being washed !

Had a number of cars that needed significant welding up after floorpans rusted through in our early car owning days, but, the worst car I had was also in some ways the best - An Audi A4 V6 2.5TDi. Dynamically, a brilliant car and significant motorway eater. The problem was it cost an absolute fortune to keep on the road. ECU replaced (thankfully under warranty), Door locking pump replaced (after the dealer broke it an wouldn't own up), Turbo Charger replaced (Ouch) and then the crank-case breather pipe blocked up immediately afterwards, Timing belt cost a king's ransom to replace, Fuel pump, the list was endless.

I had a Morris Marina 1300L as a stop gap after wrecking my mk1 Polo. It used to drink 5 litres of oil every couple of weeks. Luckily I had a ready supply of EP30 from work!

It's like Room 101 and a good bit of therapy for some of the cr*p that I've been stupid enough to buy. So in purely chronological order I'd like to add;

Blue Triumph Toledo (slow and ugly)
Red Mk 1 Ford Fiesta 950cc (slow and lacking any comfort or style)
Red Mk 2 Vauxhall Cavalier 1600cc (rusty, rattly and 150,000+ on the clock)
Blue Mk 2 Ford Sierra 1600cc (had to buy a cheap car after a divorce and hated it)
Green X Type Jaguar 2.0D (cost a fortune, nothing but trouble and awful reliability)

All a disaster for very different reasons - there must be room for all of these to go under those monster truck wheels?

My mates mustard yellow Allegro. Its dodgy alternator meant we missed the airshow at RAF Mildenhall in 1985. In fairness though I would probably get it as far as the arena but would not have the heart to see it crushed. I mean what a waste of all that brown velour, fake wood and Leyland quality.
