Well looks like my battery has come to an end and on look out for a new one.

Im looking at Tayna.com as seem good reviews (and on here). Does it matter 100% the spec? It seems its meant to be 70amph but is replacing a Halfords one (maybe 10 years Old) HCB075 -550 CCA, 60ah. Size of this one is 175,175,242.

I dont want to spend a lot as just got a new cat back exhaust. So looking £50- £80

Any ideas on what ones you have bought in that price bracket would be helpful

Can't go wrong with Tayna. I went for the Bosch 75ah @bombur, no complaints so far.

I used to think you couldn't go wrong with Tayna, BUT, had 3 batteries fail within the warranty period. They did replace them after an argument but said any other batteries that I bought from them would have no warranty at all in future so I now buy my batteries elsewhere.I had bought over a dozen batteries from them. I tend to keep my cars for long periods so always opt for a 4 year warranty. You only find out how good a company is
when you make a claim/

Sorry about that!
I used them for quite a few years and was very disappointed about the lack of warranty.

Never thought to ask if you have a 4 or 6 pot as the battery capacity maybe smaller on the 4 cyl.

@Synclare thanks for tip.
I may be saved as read somewhere about seat motors causing battery drain and remembered I had a broken passenger seat switch that I fixed, checking seat it was all the way back which is strange so I have removed switch again and looks like battery was steady overnight. think the inside of the switch (white bits) may have slipped (as are broken in two) and set the motor going. Time will tell!

Just following up on the difference between 4 and 6 cylinder battery tray space. Ours is 1998 1.9 4 cyl - narrow body and current battery length is 248. Would prefer to fit Bosch S4 96, length 278, but really difficult to tell whether it’ll sit properly in boot. Anyone able to confirm or deny? Thanks

@ATM That is my quandary however @colb has said his is 275 in his. So I think it fits. Im still testing mine but do think its time to replace and looking for similar size to the one you are looking at.
