Just wondering where people have their phone situated on their z3 and what holder everyone uses.
There's not much room in the cabin and not sure where the best place is to have my phone. I use the sat nav on it a lot so need it in a good place.
Was thinking of one of those vent holders and having it on the vent to the left of the wheel, but I do prefer my phone on the right of the wheel so I can use the phone with my right hand but it's a little cramped there and I'm not sure a window mount is viable.
Let's see how it's is set up folks.

I have always had mine on the right of the Steering wheel. Plenty of room for a satnav/phone window mount and very easy to access and does not obstruct you in any way

I bought quite an expensive magnetic vent phone holder and it didn't work, not the holder to blame the Z3 vents are just to weak to hold the weight of the phone and keep dropping, total waste of money, though it works fine in the modern daily driver, I think, though happy to be proved wrong, without drilling holes and fixing a permanent solution prob a good quality windscreen mount is best? One down side, its a small windscreen to stick Sat Nag and a phone on.

Totally agree but some find it very handy to use as a sat nag.

I never answer my phone when driving, just pull up somewhere if I think it's important. Fortunately I normally have my ball and chain/secretary/chauffeur (when I've had a drink) with me to answer calls!

Best one for me has been the type with a sticky gel like suction cup (it's sticks firm, even on a textured slightly sloped surface like the instrument binnacle on the galaxy).
In the Z it's on the centre console. Has a strong magnet with grippy surface. I use a large magnetic plate in the back of the phone under the cover. Holds a 6plus on all but the bumpiest roads- my plastic cover on the phone is a ribbed so reduces the hold- on a previous cover it was rock solid - you want the magnetic plate on then outside of the cover or a case that is velvety with the magnet inside the over which provided the grip.

I grew tired of clamp type covers as it's a faff to pull he phone in and out and as I do short journeys the phone is in and out a lot hence trying the magnetic route which I like. You can get magnet plates to stick on the back of the phone/different covers you may use separately too for little money.

Any excuse for a pic (!)

The only thing I don't like about these is the sticky crap they leave on your phone after haha.

My mobile phone / case doubles up as a card holder and sits nicely on top of the ashtray - off while driving.
